Christmas Light Installation in Webster Groves
The houses here have stood for a hundred winters. We hang lights that respect every one of them — and we bring the tall ladders.
Under the oaks, over the gables
Drive down almost any street off Lockwood in December — through Old Webster, past the university, out toward the Kirkwood line — and you’re driving through a tunnel of hundred-year-old oaks and sycamores with century homes set back behind them. Queen Annes with turrets. Four-squares with attic dormers. Wide-hipped foursquares whose porch roofs alone are bigger than some modern garages. Beautiful houses to light. Genuinely bad houses to light yourself.
The gables run tall and steep here, the front walks are guarded by root-heaved brick, and the gutters on a 1910 house don’t always sit where a big-box clip expects them to. That’s the work we’re set up for: real ladders, patient crews, and clip systems matched on site to whatever your fascia and half-round gutters actually are. No staples, no screws — trim that’s survived a hundred winters deserves to survive our visit too.
What suits a Webster Groves house
These homes carry ornament well — they were built in an era that liked it. Warm white C9 bulbs along the eaves and gable edges, garland wound up a porch column, a lit wreath centered on the attic vent or over the door. Where the house has one of those enormous front-yard oaks, a wrapped trunk under the canopy ties the whole picture together and reads from three houses away.
We keep the palette classic because the architecture asks for it — warm white first, deep cranberry as an accent for families who want a little more color on the porch line. Every run is cut to the house on the day of install, set on timers, and maintained by us until it comes down in January and goes into labeled storage at our facility.
One more Webster-specific note: December here is genuinely dark under all that canopy, which is exactly why a lit house lands so well. A modest, straight, warm-white outline on a century home outshines a yard full of inflatables every single time. That’s the look we hang.
