Godfrey spreads out north of Alton across rolling, wooded country — big lots, long drives, houses set back among mature trees, and a college campus in the middle of it. It feels considerably more rural than its distance from the river suggests.

On a lot this size the roofline alone can look remote. We bring the display forward with lit drive markers and a wrapped tree near the road, then put a strong even run along the eave so the house anchors the whole picture. Bare winter branches frame it rather than blocking it.
