Florissant decorates. Whole blocks here take December personally, and the older neighborhoods around Old Town have been doing it long enough that there is an unspoken standard — you do not put up half a display on a street where everybody else finished theirs.

The houses help. A lot of Florissant is solid postwar brick with a level roofline and a real front yard, which is close to ideal for lighting. One clean run along the eave, wreaths at the windows, a wrapped tree in the yard, and the house is done properly.
