Christmas Light Installation in Fairview Heights, Illinois

Low eaves, lower prices

Most of Fairview Heights was built after the 1960s, and the housing shows it: ranches, split-levels and modest two-stories on subdivision streets off Route 159 and Lincoln Highway. Single-story eaves at a reachable height are the cheapest roofline in the metro to light well, because almost none of the budget goes to lifts and staging. That is worth saying plainly — the same visual result costs less here than it does on a three-story Victorian in Belleville, and we would rather tell you that than quietly pad the number.

Split-levels are the other thing this town has plenty of, and staggered eaves are the detail most people get wrong. The runs have to be planned so the steps read as deliberate rather than broken. Done carelessly, a split-level front looks like somebody ran out of lights halfway across it.

The commercial side of town

Fairview Heights carries more retail frontage than almost anywhere on the Illinois side, and a lit storefront in December is worth more than a sign. We handle commercial installs on the same terms as houses: measured, installed on schedule, kept running all season, removed in January and stored labeled for next year. Work gets scheduled outside your busy hours.

• Roofline and parapet runs sized to the building, not to a stock length
• Entry and canopy lighting that stays clear of doors, signage and clearances
• One warm white across a whole strip so neighboring units do not clash
• Season-long repairs included, with a callback if a section goes dark
