Sparta sits south in Randolph County, far enough from the metro that the night sky actually looks like one. The town has a settled grid of older housing and a small commercial centre, with farm ground running out in every direction.

Complete darkness is the best backdrop a display can have. A single warm colour on a well-measured roofline carries a remarkable distance out here, and a wrapped tree near the road gives the eye something to find first. Restraint reads as expensive; clutter reads as busy.
