Christmas Light Installation in Glen Carbon, Illinois
Most of Glen Carbon went up after 1990, which means tall entries, stacked gables and rooflines that reward a plan over a guess.
A village that grew up in the subdivision era
Glen Carbon sits right against Edwardsville along Route 159 and Meridian Road, and the two towns read as one place until you look at the houses. Where Edwardsville has a nineteenth-century core, most of Glen Carbon was platted and built from the 1990s forward: two-story homes on graded lots, brick or stone on the front elevation, siding down the sides, and a roof that steps two or three times across the facade before it gets to the garage.
That kind of front is where amateur installs fall apart. Each gable is a separate run, each run has to start and stop at the same distance from the edge, and the steps between them have to look intentional. Get it right and the house reads as one clean line of light. Get it wrong and it reads as somebody who ran out of cord.
Where the yard does the rest
Graded subdivision lots tend to have young landscaping and a lot of open lawn, which is why roofline alone can look thin here. A wrapped tree near the drive, netted shrubs across the front bed, and a lit garland on the entry give the house depth that another run of eave line will not.
We install through October and November, keep the display running all season, and take it down and store it in January. Serving Glen Carbon, Edwardsville and the rest of Madison County — free quote from the address.
