Christmas Light Installation in Shiloh, Illinois

One of the fastest-growing villages in St. Clair County, and almost all of it is the kind of house that looks best with the roofline traced properly.

New houses, big front elevations

Shiloh sits between Belleville and O’Fallon, and it has spent the last two decades filling in with subdivisions along Frank Scott Parkway and the roads that feed Scott Air Force Base. The housing is overwhelmingly newer and on the larger side: two-story fronts, brick or stone at the first floor, a covered entry, and a roof that steps across the facade in two or three planes before it reaches the garage wing.

Houses like this photograph beautifully once the roofline is right, and they look conspicuously unfinished when it is not. A single sagging span across a wide front is visible from the end of the block. So the work here is mostly discipline: measure, cut to fit, clip at a consistent depth from the edge, and check it from the curb before the truck leaves.

Lot sizes here are generous and the landscaping on a lot of streets is still young, so the ground level usually needs something too. One properly wrapped tree and a netted front bed will do more for a Shiloh house than another run of light above the garage.

A standard Shiloh install

  • Full front roofline including every gable step, in one warm color temperature
  • Peak and two-story entry reached properly, with a lift where a ladder has no business being
  • Wrapped columns and lit garland at the door, which is what people actually walk past
  • One or two trees wrapped clean, rather than a scatter of small lit objects across the lawn
  • Timer set on the day, and adjusted later if the household keeps different hours
On a wide new-build front, the only thing anybody notices is whether the line is straight. So we make the line straight.

We install through October and November, service the display all season without you having to ask twice, and take everything down and store it in January. Shiloh, O’Fallon and Belleville are all on the same routes for us — call (636) 244-6125.
