Christmas Light Installation in Jerseyville, Illinois

The Jersey County seat north of the Riverbend, a square town with settled housing and open country beyond.

A county seat, and the country around it

Jerseyville is the Jersey County seat, north past Godfrey where the Riverbend gives way to farm country. It has a proper square, older housing on the streets around it, and county roads running out into ground that goes very dark after sundown.

In town, older porches and simple gables want one warm run and nothing more. Out on the county roads, the display has to start at the road — drive markers and a wrapped tree — because the house is too far back to carry on its own.

What works here

  • One warm-white run, evenly spaced — with nothing competing, restraint reads best
  • The porch line picked out — most houses here have one worth showing
  • A wrapped tree at the front — doubles the display without touching the house
  • Wreaths and garland at the door — the finishing touch, not the whole plan
  • Timers and mid-season checks — so it is lit every evening without you thinking about it
In town, restraint. Out of town, reach. Both measured on site.

Jerseyville is the far end of our northern Illinois run, grouped with Godfrey and Grafton. The mileage is ours, not yours.
