Christmas Light Installation in Columbia, Illinois
Fifteen minutes from South County across the bridges, with an old Main Street core and a lot of newer building around it.
Close enough to be a St. Louis suburb
Columbia sits in Monroe County just off Route 3 and I-255, which puts it closer to Oakville and south St. Louis County than a lot of Missouri towns we serve. It has grown accordingly. The older core near Main Street holds nineteenth-century brick and frame homes on small lots with simple, steep roofs; the newer subdivisions climbing the bluffs are full of larger two-story houses with the complex front elevations that came with the era.
That mix means quotes here vary more than people expect. A small brick house near Main Street and a five-gable build up on the bluff are not the same amount of work, and we would rather measure both than quote a package price and sort out the difference on install day.
What each half of town needs
The old-town houses reward restraint. The roofs are simple, the porches are the best feature, and one warm color temperature across the whole front makes them look considered rather than decorated. The newer bluff-side homes are the opposite problem — there is a lot of facade, several gable planes, and often a tall entry that needs to be reached properly rather than stretched at.
- Roofline measured on site before a number is given, on either kind of house
- Warm white throughout, with color only where you actually want it
- Porch, rail and entry work on the older homes, where it does the most
- Season-long repairs and January takedown included in the install price
We serve Columbia and Waterloo on the same Monroe County schedule as our Metro East routes. Install in October and November, maintenance all season, storage after takedown. Call (636) 244-6125 for a free quote.
